Aside from SLC processors, this module is compatible for use in remote I/O topology. When used in Remote I/O chassis, slot 0 of the chassis is reserved for an SLC 500 communication adapter. Other slots are compatible for this module.With the use of the 1746-OW8, the need of interposing relays may be eliminated. Interposing relays are typically used for operation with different voltage category.
