Product Overview

The 3300/16-02-01-01-00-00-02 is a dual-channel vibration monitor from the legacy Bently Nevada 3300 series.

It continuously measures radial vibration and average shaft position (gap) from two independent proximity probe systems. Designed for critical rotating machinery such as turbines and compressors, it detects imbalance, misalignment, and bearing wear.

The XY/GAP configuration provides both dynamic vibration data and static DC gap voltage measurements, ensuring comprehensive protection for fluid-film bearing machines.

Key Features and Functions

  • Dual-Channel Monitoring: Measures two radial vibration channels (XY) or two independent gap channels simultaneously.

  • Gap Alarms: Provides Gap Alert setpoints for excessive bearing wear or shaft position issues, in addition to standard Alert and Danger vibration setpoints.

  • First Out Indication: Flashing LEDs indicate which channel first crossed an alarm threshold, aiding rapid root-cause analysis.

  • Buffered Outputs: Front-panel coaxial connectors provide raw signals for portable diagnostics or System 1® software.

  • API 670 Compliant: Meets stringent American Petroleum Institute standards for machinery protection systems.

Technical FAQ

Q1: What is the purpose of the 3X Trip Multiply option?
A: During machine startups, vibration can temporarily exceed normal limits. The 3X Trip Multiply raises alarm limits by three times to prevent unnecessary trips while the machine passes through resonance frequencies (critical speeds).

Q2: Is this monitor still in production?
A: The 3300 series is End-of-Life (EOL) and largely superseded by the 3500 series. However, the 3300/16 remains available as a spare part for legacy racks and is widely used to maintain existing infrastructure.
